Chances for in-state UT...AHH!

<p>So, I am a white male attending school in Houston. My school happens to be ranked #112 in top public schools (Newsweek) and has a big-time reputation at UT.</p>

<p>Major- Geosciences (totally different school than lib. arts)
ACT: 28
Rank: 146/694 (19%)
GPA: 4.2 (W) 3.7 (UW)
APs: Eng Lang- 4 US hist- 4 Hum geo- 5 Env. Science- 5
WIll have taken 11 AP classes by end of senior year
HEAVY courseload
Killer essays
Killer recs (One from my geology teacher which is unbelievable)
ECS: Editor-in-Chief of Newspaper, Captian of tennis team and many more small ones
HOOK!- Performed research for USGS in Yellowstone and submitted a lab write-up and received certification from USGS ( I sent colleges my abstract)
Comm Service- 400 + hours in school bookroom, 200 + hours as an instructor/intern at HOuston Arboretum
Jobs: Checker/sacker at grocery store, Radio Disney, Houston Arboretum
Many awards regarding academic success</p>

<p>I know UT is tough if not in top 10%, but hopefully!</p>

<p>*Also applying to Michigan(should hear any day now), Illinois, Northwestern, and already accepted to IU with a 28,000 scholarship and admission into Honors college.</p>
