Any advice on whether these are all reach schools for me?
How do I go about narrowing down my choices?
Any schools in the NY/Boston area that are more likely for me to get in?

Background:
Singaporean, Chinese, Female, no family members have attended university (locally or in the US)

Your writing score sticks out like a sore thumb. There’s usually a bench mark score you’d have to clear for some of those schools, and a 590 could just put you out of the running completely.

Not quite sure what happened with the D in Literature but that could be a problem as well.

You could look up these schools on your list and their average SAT Scores. I think the average for Writing is 650 for most of the school you listed.

I think you should retake SAT. Oh but you’re in NS right? Then just take time. Fellow Singaporean here.

Retake SAT for sure and try some lower-tier schools, Cooper Union does not really take many students and mind you, NYU is super expensive.
EC looks fine to me. If you’ve got the time (which is confusing since you’ve already graduated from JC but posted this in April when all admission decisions should have been made), try taking AP Calculus or some other subjects that will strengthen your profile for Comp Engineering especially.
