i'm not really sure cos i heard that international students have a hell of a time trying to get in. and my SAT scores are low compared to many of the ppl here.. grateful for help!

Haha more and more singaporeans in this forum!

Okay, relax. It's not THAT hard for internationals to get into colleges - provided you don't need aid. And since you are a Singaporean and looking at your academic ECs, I guess you're not applying aid and probably going for a research scholarship with say A*Star.

Academically, your profile (less your SATs) is probably above the average Singaporean applicant pool. Actually, your SAT isn't bad either, just that Singaporeans tend to score ridiculously high on SATs so in comparison yours don't look grade. I suggest you retake it and bump up your Math to 800 (which you noe you're capable of so long as you don't make too many careless mistakes), and probably try to break 700 for writing, then your SAT I will be very competitive.

But anyway, don't be too worried about SATs. I don't think they matter much so long as you have decent enough scores - and yours is definitely more than decent.

ECs wise, yours look rather unique actually. I mean like, GOLF?

With decent essays and recs, I'll say you'll get into Chicago, JHU and Duke. Columbia is a long shot for you, just as it is for most people - but it's always worth a try.

Hey woebegone. thanks for the help. got reassured. btw which jc were you from?. I'm from VJC

Hmm you have great stats... but keep in mind US admissions is so unpredictable... apply to some good safeties

No prob. I'm from RJC. :)
