Chances for international to get into scs or ece

I’m from India and I was wondering what my chances were of getting into cmu

cmu scs has a 5% acceptance rate and is a longshot for everyone

I’m from Korea, but I went to school in Kuwait, and I got into CMU this year. I applied for ECE yet they allowed me to freely choose any of the engineering majors they have (this chance is given to 1/3 of the admitted students). Personally, I think you have a good chance of getting into ECE. Can’t be sure about SCS though. Publishing games and teaching computer definitely makes you a strong candidate and shows where your interest is in. It is definitely more focused than mine. Your achievement in Olympiad competitions is impressive as well. Your grades are solid and you shouldn’t worry about them since grades are often not so important as long as they pass a certain point.

Here is the list of the things I did in High School so you can get a clear idea of where you are at.
-1560 SAT
-800 in SAT Math 2, Physics, and Chemistry
-13 APs (got 5 in 12 of them)
-4.25 cumulative
-1st place in a regional Engineering Competition
-1st in Kuwait National Math Competition
-Founded our school’s coding and robotics club
-Established the first Science National Honor Society in the middle east
-NHS vice president
-Mu Alpha Theta President

I guess I’ll be waiting for you at Carnegie
