and I took AP bio in 10th not 9th sorry.

I stopped reading after your test scores because I am already impressed. I am guessing you are from Ghana? Dude, I think you have very good chances of getting into any college on your list, and probably getting scholarships and financial aid. I wouldn’t worry if I were you.

You have a great chance in getting into any college on paper. Ivy leagues + Stanford are a crap shoot in my opinion. That being said, you’ve done everything to the T in making your chances the highest possible. The only thing that you can do is make sure your essays make you stand out and you show the school that you’re most interested in that you want to go there.Additionally, I’d focus on applying to less schools and make every application count rather than racking up trophy acceptances even though I get with schools of those calibers more apps generally equals better chances.

Thanks @whaletale and @ethiopienne for the input. The problem is that it is hard for any one to get into ivys so I have to apply to a lot of schools to see where I stand. Their is no way my parents can pay a dime for my education so there is a very real opportunity that I might skip college for a while and work at small jobs so I can save up for it.

Some advice that I ought to consider myself and that might be helpful to you is to broaden your college options other than top 20 schools. I don’t know if you can relate to this, but in my African household it’s pretty much a Ivy do or die atmosphere and god bless my parents I know they want me to triumph from their struggles but I think it’s important to also keep in mind some schools that may not be considered the absolute best, but are good for you and your major. That way, while giving the best of the best schools your best shot you still have solid viable options you won’t be disappointed with.

@ethiopienne My parents don’t even know what an Ivy is! they would be happy if I got into any school that is in the state.lol.

There should be no reason why you should have to postpone college to work. With your stats, you need to include some automatic scholarship schools and also vie for schools that you will be a great candidate for scholarships which means adding more safeties in your list. I think you mean’t “stipend” instead of “siphon” which implies just the opposite (as in taking away/making less of).

Then I wouldn’t sweat it! Lol. With those stats, you’ll get good scholarships from your local in state schools at the very least.

Yeah, your stats look great. I wouldn’t worry about it…you should have a big chance of getting in in my opinion.

@goingnutsmom sorry, my English isn’t very good. Do you know any schools that provide automatic scholarship in California? I would like to go to these schools listed for the knowledge I would gain but In no way can I afford to be there. Is there anything I could do to improve my apps so I can get full ride from these schools?

The Ivies (except maybe Cornell), Stanford, Caltech and UChicago are reaches (but reachable in your case). I think you’ll get into the others.

I think you’re chances are very good. that’s really all I have to say as my opinion doesn’t necessarily matter. your stats are good enough to make you very competitive, all you need now is a little luck.

@Ghana1996‌
If you get accepted to HYPMS, your EFC s/b $0 for these schools. Also CSULB offers full ride for Val and NMSF. It’s not automatic though.

<a href=“Financial Aid and Scholarships | California State University Long Beach”>Financial Aid and Scholarships | California State University Long Beach;

@2018dad thanks for that info! I will definitely apply to CSULB

Lol perfect stats, great EC’s, even without your URM, I’d say you get into half of the reachiest colleges at worst (Harvard, Stanford), add URM and I’d say you get into almost every college here.
For financial matters, most Ivies and top schools only give financial aid, how many of your siblings are in college? Even at 70K a year, by these college’s calculators your parents will be expected to contribute some money (check it out on each obe’s website), it’ll drop if you have siblings in college. Just look at that and talk to your parents. Most state schools may offer you a substantial scholarship (not sure) and there are a list of schools (look it up, also is on this forum) who offer full rides or substantial scholarships to national merit finalists. Not too many of them are in California I believe (mostly in the southeast) and these schools are probably below your academic level unfortunately.
Congratulations on your incredible achievements!

@theanaconda thanks. I have no siblings in college, the oldest sibling is 10, the youngest is 2. Needless to say I have to take care of them all of the time. My parents have made some bad financial decisions though: bought a car at a cheap price but we have spent 3x the amount on repairs(7G + 21G repairs). Is there anyway to convey that my parents have almost no way to pay for a shred of my college experience?

Oh God are you human?!?! I bet you will get into any university in America lol. Also you said you are born in Ghana, but are you black?

@youngm0rphine yes, I consider myself black but I am not technically African American since I will get my citizenship in August but am currently not a citizen.
