Chances for main campus?

With an unweighted GPA of 3.2 and a 1280 out of 1600 (660 reading/writing & 620 math) on the new SAT, do I have any chance at main campus? I checked off summer session when I applied and I have a total of 13 AP and honor classes by graduation as well. My ECs aren’t that great either. ):

What’s your weighted GPA? I’d say you have a pretty good shot although your GPA is a little on the low side. Checking off summer session and doing DUS supposedly helps a lot for people on the border line.

3.5/5, so yea, not good. & I applied to the college of Earth and Mineral Science. =P

Does being in state affect chances?

Change it to DUS and check summer session

Agree with MYOS. Change your major to undecided and apply with the summer option checked. My daughter got in with a 3.5 weighted (but her unweighted was a 3.45…don’t get me started on how her school barely weights honors classes of which she had many!). She applied DUS and summer and started in 2015. She’s a sophomore now and she says starting summer was the best thing she ever did…so don’t be discouraged if that’s how you get admitted.

i don’t know how to compare the new sat to act but i had a 30 act and a 3.2/4.5 unweighted gpa and i got into the main campus with a specific major for the fall semester and with a scholarship. nothing is impossible, but if you really want to go here definitely switch to DUS!

I already sent my application in a month ago, is it still possible to change it to DUS now?

@yahtzeect 30 on the ACT is about a 1400 on the SAT which is a really good score for PSU. What was your major?

@fineapple Yes, just call admissions and ask to change your major on your application. Since your application has yet to be reviewed, it’s an easy change.
