Chances For Me Getting Into Purdue Engineering

Going into my senior year of high school, it's college app time and I was wondering how realistic my expectations are. I am a Purdue Engineering hopeful and would love nothing more to attend. If it makes a difference, I will also be applying for an ROTC scholarship from the Army.

Hispanic, Caucasian Male out of State, attending top ranked public school in Illinois, Aunt went to Purdue

GPA: 3.2 UW/ 3.6 W
ACT: 33 Composite w/ 10 Writing
School Doesn't Rank
Year Progression: Freshman (3.4 W), Sophomore (3.32 W), Junior (4.2 W)
Obviously, I had a ridiculous turnaround from mostly Bs and C's to straight A's in all honors.
All honors and AP classes since Freshman Year.
Hockey For 4 Years, Varsity for 2
Numerous Community Service w/ Food Drives
Part time work all summer
A handful of scholastic awards from national language exams, hockey leagues

Probably missing some things, but that's the general idea. Let me know please!

Your GPA is a bit low, but your ACT is above average for Purdue engineering. You may also consider UIUC. I just came back from visiting Purdue and UIUC with focus on their engineering school. Both are pretty good. Since you are from Illinois, UIUC may be more favorable to you.

Thanks for the reply! I’ll definitely check out UIUC. I know their engineering is also very good.

The mid 50 ACT for UIUC engineering admission was 31-34. You should have a good chance getting in as in state student. You should go down to take a look. You will love the engineering campus. Purdue also has many new buildings in the engineering quad, but the environment and landscape is far behind UIUC. Nevertheless, the food court is excellent at Purdue.
