You will just have to wait and see. NEU has been moving in the direction of providing need based aid primarily. I know that one of the more generous merit awards no longer exists.
Your daughter has excellent stats…so hopefully she will see some merit aid.
And if she is engineering, will she do their co-op program? If so, this will help, as well as give her great work experience as well.
The co-op program is something she’d definitely do. She also prefers a college of engineering within a larger university. She would also love to go to school in Boston. We have other opportunities for aid through my husband’s job at a college (Tuition Exchange) but NEU does not participate. She is only likely to attend NEU if there is some amount of merit aid.
@TerpDad888 Schools of that ilk have 5% acceptance rates and the aid is all need based, no merit aid. Since the OP is inquiring about merit aid they may not qualify for need based aid.
My D (white F, PA) got $15,000 EA 2 years ago with slightly lower stats than your D. Her classmate, M with stats much like your D’s, was awarded $22,000 (IIRC). Hope that helps.
