Would I receive any merit based aid?

Hey Everyone
I’m currently a Junior from a suburb of Atlanta, Georgia
My Stats:
SAT 1520 (790M 730E)
800 on Physics Subject Test
720 on Math 2 Subject Test
UW GPA: 4.0
W GPA: 4.55
Would anyone with experience mind commenting on my chance at merit based financial aid and if so how much.
Thank you all!

What major?

Will you be NMF?

Mechanical Engineering or maybe comp sci. Does that matter?
Also, no I will not be NMF unfortunately

First of all, your stats are impressive! Strong work!

I’ve emailed, called and visited the Student Financial Services Office at NU and no-one will give ANY information about the criteria for merit funding. LMK if you find out anything.

Good luck with your college search!

Northeastern does not have cutoffs that qualify an applicant for merit aid. The website says it is awarded to the top 10-15% of applicants. but that has been a moving target the past few years, moving upwards.

Your best bet is to read through the entire EA/Rd admission threads for NEU. U will get a good idea of who gets merit and who doesn’t.

You never know what you are going to get. Students with lower stats than my son got more merit aid than he did. My guess is that it is somewhat holistic, just like the admissions decision.

Thank you all for the responses. I applied a few weeks ago for EA and I’ll let you guys know if I hear anything.
