<p>Rank: Top 10% (My school does not rank, only does it by decile)
however, my gpa is 4.1 weighted, with all A's except 2 B+'s freshman year and one Junior year. (That B junior year was in English, but I was taking 5 AP's and other classes)</p>

<p>I played Lacross Freshmen year, and also did track Sophomore and freshmen year. Stopped junior year to pursue academics and manage clubs.</p>

<p>I currently hold the leadership position since 11th grade. </p>

<p>9th: Team is Champion of MCC high school engineering competition</p>

<p>10th: Team is second in nation in the National Engineering Design Challenge. (Presenter at Finals and substantial writer of report that gets team into nationals)</p>

<p>11th: Team recieves 6,000 grant from MIT to develop invention, and is second again in the National Engineering Design Challenge (I am captain this year)</p>

<p>Whether I am captain/president again has yet to be determined for senior year.</p>

<p>To follow my hobby as a stand-up comedian, I started a comedy club at my school. We get togethor to practice comedy, watch stand-up, analyze and comment on it, etc.</p>

<p>The Challenge (A New york, Rhode Island, New Jersey Television quiz bowl game show):</p>

<p>11th grade: On team to represent High School, and we make it to championship round of state</p>

<p>In 10th and 11th grade, I was selected to participate in ARML (American Regional Mathematics League), and represent my State in a national competition (I was on a team)</p>

<p>10th grade: AIME qualifier (AMC: 112)
11th grade: AIME qualifier (AMC:127 AIME: 5) (School high-scorer)</p>

<p>I made it into Columbia Science Honors Program, where the acceptence rate was 15% (low for a program) for my senior year</p>

<p>Summer Programs:</p>

<p>11th grade summer(after 11th): I did Summer Science Program (SSP), a rigourous program thats selects 72 student nationwide to attend (11th grade)</p>

<p>10th grade summer (after 10th): Cornell Summer College (Program itself is easy to get into, but getting good grades as a high schooler is hard, as these are undergraduate courses. I was able to get an A- average in 3 courses)</p>

<p>9th grade summer (after 9th): Center for Talented Youth at Skidmore college, Game Theory</p>

<p>I have also tutored kids for no charge</p>

<p>My hobby that I love to do is Stand up comedy (which is why I started the comedy club). I have performed at different venues, with my largest audience being 1000 and smallest being 50</p>

<p>That pretty much sums it up.</p>

<p>Lets get back on topic though. I'm getting mixed reviews here; some people say reach and some people say match for these schools. Whats the verdict?
Oh and, by Columbia I mean Columbia Engineering</p>

<p>I hate saying this, but I'm not sure even I could call schools like these matches. That is, if these are matches, then it'd be hard to call any school in the world a reach.</p>
