honors/awards: Sigma Xi High School Award: it's like an honor society for science, they pick one kid from every school in the county
National Merit: I'm right on the cutoff so I don't know if I'll be commended or semi-finalist yet
AP Scholar (with something): not official but I know I at least passed all 5 of my exams

additional information: My parent's income is around 60k so I'll need financial aid.
My senior year I work on a capstone project where I am going into a research lab and studying how different enzymes can stop the toxic effects of neurotoxins in humans.
I plan to major in biomedical engineering or some type of bio.
I am a white female.

Your creds are good enough to get into most of the schools mentioned, except possibly MIT because they look for students who base their school work and ECs on tech, mech, or science technology related stuff.

Well i did not read the last capston project so it may help out for MIT

thanks! 10char

At a minimum, you should be golden as a female applicant to MIT: the acceptance rate for females is somewhere around 17% and you have solid stats.

I wouldn’t worry about financial aid; for a family income of $60k a year, most of the schools you listed will be cheaper than living at home and attending your local state school.

You’re well over qualified to have a shot at each and everyone of these schools. I’m 85% certain you will be accepted into at least one school you like.

A UW GPA of 4.0 and SATs over 2300 plus good ECs, jeez.

Johns Hopkins, UVa, UNC are all matches, and you’ll get into a few of those other schools, but there’s no telling which ones since the admissions process is so random for them.

Highest reach: MIT, Harvard, Yale
Reach: Columbia, Penn, Duke
Match: Others

Your credentials look excellent, however, Harvard and MIT also require subject test scores and they can be important. Can you also share those, if you have taken them?

M2L

I got a 740 on Bio E and an 800 on Math 2

needless to say you GPA SAt and EC are aweseome and your EC also demonstrate leaderhip qualities which admissions committees like, any volunteering, APS are nice u scored well (suposidely) and have taken many of them…

MIT, Harvard, Yale----reach (it is for everyone!!) if u apply ED to one, I would say it is a low reach…
, Columbia, UPenn, low reach (if u apply ED i would say u have realllllly good chances)
Johns Hopkins, match
Duke, UVa, UNC (chapel hill) match

chance back, please!!!
