Hi! I was wondering what my chances were for Michigan State, Michigan, and Wisconsin-Madison. I applied to State but I was deffered and then accepted to the Spring 2018 semester. I didn’t apply to Michigan or Wisco. I’ve decided that instead of going to my second choice, Indiana, that I’d take a gap year teaching English in Central America. So, what would my chances be for those schools after a gap year?
I have a 3.1 gpa (freshman year was bad), a 24 ACT, and a 1100 SAT
Your SAT and GPA are both really low for UM and Wisconsin-Madison
I forgot to mention that I was planning on taking some online college courses, would that help?
@ZoZoLynn I really doubt it would make up for your GPA/Test Scores
After the gap year, your time in Central America will stand out to the admissions committee, especially since it ould be rendered as “uncommon”. While you are there, I suggest you do some more community services in the area
