<p>My friend is applying to Natural Sciences at UT Austin and was wondering what his chances are so I wanted to help him out. Here are his stats:</p>

<p>GPA: 97.988
Rank: 58/526, Top 11%
SAT: 1930, M-640 CR-650 W-640
All Pre-AP and AP classes
AP Classes: 7 Total, made a 5 on AP Chem
~50-70 hours of community service; various places
Marching and concert band freshman and sophomore years
NHS junior and senior years
Recommendation Letters from AP Chemistry teacher and others</p>

<p>What are his chances for Chemistry or Computer Science in Natural Sciences? Would having a 5 on the AP Chemistry test help with acceptance?

<p>What has he done for the last two years as his major EC?</p>

<p>National Honor Society is really the only organization he’s been involved in for the past 2 years, but he was chosen as NHS’s homecoming king nominee.</p>

<p>From what I have seen on these boards, and from knowing about kids outside the top 10 from D’s school applying over the last few years, I would say his changes were slim. With nothing to keep him from having his nose to the grindstone academically his GPA is week. (Assuming it is weighted)</p>
