Chances for New England Boarding Schools

I am an eighth grader who is applying for boarding school such as Phillips Exeter and Phillips Academy. I had my Andover interview yesterday, and I believe it went well. It was fairly casual, and we laughed at each others jokes and it was very friendly.

I was wondering if anybody can give me my chances for Andover (or Exeter). Any comment would mean a lot to me.

Fifth Grade:
- I took a local test to qualify for the local team consisting of 8 people that would travel to Hong Kong for a math contest. Although I didn't qualify, I made it to the top five in my grade.
- I was voted the best writer in my class.
- I was awarded second place in a regional math competition

Sixth Grade:
- I took that same test to qualify for the Hong Kong competition, and that year, I qualified in the top 8.
- I took the AMC 8 and I scored a 23 (two wrong). I got second place in my school.
- I got two gold medals at the National Qualifiers in Taekwondo, which allowed me to participate in the Junior Olympics, but I couldn't because I went to Korean that year.
- I received third place in the same regional math competition I got second place in fifth grade.
- Received fifth place in a national contest.

Seventh Grade:
- I took the AMC 8 and scored top in my school.
- I won two more gold medals at the Taekwondo National Qualifiers, but again couldn't go because I had to go to a math camp in another state.
- I got second place in a regional SAT competition.
- Fifth place in an international math contest.
- Scored a 90 on AMC 12B, qualifying me for AIME.
- Assistant coached a fourth grade AYSO soccer team.
- I joined an orchestra and I became the Principle Oboist.
- Qualified for the CTY program.
- SAT score = 1860

Eighth Grade (Now)
- Principal Oboist in orchestra
- Volunteer at local library (three hours a week)

My grades are all As with one B- in math right now, which ironically, is my strongest subject.
Will that B- destroy it all?

Any comments will be much appreciated.
Thanks a lot for helping me!!!

I seriously doubt a B- will destroy your chances.

bump for you  good luck, i know from experience how stressful the new england boarding school application process can be. don’t worry, it’ll all pay off in the end. i made it into exeter my freshman year but decided not to go for family reasons, and i have never regretted that decision, but people i know who’ve gone to exeter (with similar stats to yours, i might add!) have loved it.

best of luck.

And no, a B- will not destroy it all.

thanks @ifax108 and @kidfromvirginia!!!
@kidfromvirginia - haha… thanks a lot!!! really comforting to hear that.
THANKS VERY MUCH. i really appreciate all the comments. :D

not a problem at all! i understand completely - it would’ve been nice for me to have some reassurance in my day.

good luck!

so kidfromvirginia, where and what are you doing now, if i may ask?

it’s been a while since i saw this.
bump?
