College's I'm Looking Into
Accelerated Programs: Northwestern's HPME (Dream), Case Western PPSP, USC BA/MD, Rice/Baylor, UMKC, SLU, UIC GPPA

Regular Undergrad: Wash U, Duke, John Hopkins

Feel free to suggest other universities and programs.

Thank You

So please don't get me wrong -- I'm a big Duke supporter. But is there a reason you're avoiding the Northeast and the West Coast?

Not really, I mean there are countless other colleges I've considered applying to, but my parents want me to keep the application list down.

Do you have any suggestions on colleges in those areas that I should consider?

I'd say get rid of Case and SLU...and add Temple, Drexel, VCU or even PLME.

I've heard that SLU is at the lower end of combined programs, but I've heard that Case Western's program is good. How do Temple, Drexel, VCU compare?

Also, isn't PLME a complete reach?

Temple/VCU/Drexel are better than Case's so I wouldn't bother applying to PPSP.

Yes, PLME is a reach but it's a MUCH better program and you'll be better off in the long run.

I agree...Case's program won't help you out in the long run.

Case is easily one of the top programs, and Rainbow Babies and Children's is a top pediatric hospital, if that is where your interest lies. Based on the qualilty of undergrad and med schools, Rice/Baylor, HPME and Case would be hard to pass up. They are also the most selective. For advice about traditional programs look to some of Bluedevilmike's prior posts. Some traditional programs are a better option than a combined program. For example, if accepted to Duke, Penn, Rice, Stanford, HYP or some of the top LAC's such as Williams, Amherst or Swarthmore, you will have a superior undergrad experience and if you stay focused will have a very good chance of being admitted to an excellent med school.

lol Rainbow Babies..love the name!

Case is not THAT good at all if you compare it Brown, NW, Rice or even VCU.

It still needs to prove itself..it's a bad place to apply IMO.

Alright, thanks again for all the suggestions.

But the question still remains? What are my chances of getting admitted to these programs? (No point researching if they're all completely out of reach)

Sorry about the double post, but what are my chances at UIC's GPPA program. I'm instate for that.

So, I've decide to apply to either temple, drexel or vcu. Which program do you all recommend?
