Chances for Northeastern & ACT tips

<p>Hello, I'm a senior and I'll be applying to Northeastern EA for BSIB and I was wondering if someone could chance me.</p>

GPA: 3.72 UW 4.03 W
Rank: 7/446
ACT: 24 :/ retaking in September, hopefully going to get a 27-29
AP classes taken: AP World (4), AP US (3), AP Lang (didn't take)
AP classes this year: AP Lit, AP Econ (micro & macro), AP Gov, AP Calc AB, AP Bio</p>

<p>EC's:
Founder of a t-shirt company (raised $2,000 this past year)
Worker at family business (African food catering service)
Lacrosse (4 years/3 on varsity)
Secretary of Beta Club
Editor & Chief of Yearbook
Manager of Schools First Robotics Team (won us a $10,000 grant w/ written essay & interview)
French Honors Society
Peer Tutoring</p>

TOPSoccer (Assist children with disabilities participate in Youth Soccer)

<p>Honors:
Georgia Certificate of Merit (People in Top 5% of class)

<p>Special Projects:
Participated in two summer business programs (OLAB at Wabash College & YWI at Indiana University) where we had to run a mock business & deal with things like labor negotiations, commercials, ad campaigns, stockholder's speech etc.</p>

<p>Thanks for taking the time to read all that lol. I really feel that if I were able to raise my stupid ACT score I could get in.
So do you have any pointers to raise my score, & do you feel that if I did raise it I could get in?

<p>At this point, put as much effort as possible into getting your ACT up. Generally speaking, GPA, relative course load, and test scores are what schools are going to be most interested in. 3.72 isn’t bad, but definitely try to get straight As this semester in case you’re wait-listed. Your course load depends on what your school offers, and at the very least, your coursework for the next year looks like it will be demanding. </p>

<p>Consider taking the SAT in addition to the ACT, and whatever you do, try to prepare as much as humanly possible. Northeastern has too many applicants for a particularly good essay or set of extracurriculars to overcome a bad score.</p>

<p>If it wasn’t for your ACT scores, I’d say you have a great shot… Raise them up!!! And try Barron’s 36… It’s great… :)</p>
