Chances please!

Attends large, fairly competitive public high school.
SAT: 2290 (760Math, 730CR, 800 Writing)
Top 4% of class (27/700)
Strong Recs and a variety of good ECs.

I realize chancing is subjective but anyone have any input?

Thanks!

Your numbers are competitive (i.e., they will be similar – perhaps slightly better – than most of the students who are accepted to NU). Beyond that with the miniscule acceptance rates for schools in this tier, nothing is guaranteed.

(BTW, I’d pretty much say the same if you asked this question about any of the top 25 or so schools).

It comes down to how you distinguished yourself among thousands of applicants who are similarly academically qualified. I have seen students with your profile rejected ED. On the other hand, there are other ED applicants with both lower and higher numbers admitted. RD is even less predictable.

Once you pass the threshold for consideration, your ethinicity plays an important role.
