Chances for NYU Tisch (Film)

Hi, I posted here about a year ago with some stats following sophomore year. I'm an upcoming senior now with a better idea of what my stats are, nervous as all get out. Chances, please?

Female from Southern California
I go to a small private school that sends 100% of its students to colleges, highly competitive. most students go to top 25 schools.

weighted GPA: 3.75
I don't know my unweighted, but the worst grade I've ever gotten is a B-, and that was in an honors class, and only once. Other than that, I've had around half A/A-s, a third B+s, and the remaining bit B's and that B-. From that, I'm guessing my Unweighted is about a 3.4-3.5

Honors and AP's: 3 honors (ancient civ, spanish III, and chemistry), 3 APs (AP US, AP Euro, AP English) so far. Next year taking AP English Language, AP World History, AP Art History, and Honors Physics.

SAT: 1980 composite (650 CR, 630 M, 700 W) retaking*
ACT: 31 composite (33 english, 30 science, 30 reading, 28 math)

ECs:
--Have played piano for 12 years. I graduate this year from the Music Teachers Association of California, which means that I've passed 10 levels of both theory and practical tests for piano. I've had awards at competitions (two honorable mentions, one 2nd place) as well.
--Member of school's Orchestra since 7th grade
--Newspaper Backpage Editor (10th) and Graphics Editor (10th-12th) as well as columnist (10-12)
--Junior Mentor program (11)
--school's Leadership program (9-12)
--volunteered 200+ hours at Ronald McDonald Charity House (10-12)
--have held a steady job since the beginning of Junior year

Also, I have been active in filmmaking since 8th grade. I've taken many classes in and outside of school, and have won numerous awards at film festivals. I helped to organize our school's film festival two years ago and this year organized the festival with just a faculty supervisor to help. I have an internship this summer at USC Film School and last summer went to the Rhode Island School of Design Pre-College for Film/Video.

Awards:
Honor Roll (since 7th grade)
Festival Awards (two "best overall", four official selections, one "best writing")
published a short story on a fairly popular/well known website
100 hours of community service award (community service at our school isn't required)

My portfolio is hopefully going to be kickass. I've worked SUPER hard on the film I'm going to submit.

I'm most nervous about my grades, and ECs. Filmmaking takes up a lot of my "EC" time, and I'm not sure that will translate well on paper. :(

HELP! (please)

you look pretty solid. i would be surprised if Tisch penalized a Film/TV student for not having a lot of ECs, since film is SO time consuming. i think you’ll be fine. just get the SATs up. but no SAT IIs?

make sure to have people proofread your essays. . .and then read them again. . .and again. . .and again. . . It really does help.

why even bother retaking your SATs.

your ACT is good enough.

Your raw stats looks fine, besides your SAT which seems on the lower spectrum, although I see you are retaking so you’re making the right decision in my opinion. You’re probably not going to get rejected for raw stats, so that is probably good on your part. What you really need to sit down and spend time working on is your portfolio which Tisch especially considers more heavily than your actual raw stats. Good luck, and hope to see you at NYU ( I am crossing my fingers as well. :P)

I don’t believe SAT II’s are required for NYU Tisch (at least I thought so?) but the SAT scores I would be submitting are US History: 710 and Literature: 670

Thank you all  I’m working hard on that portfolio…
