Chances for NYU?

I'm a junior, planning to apply to NYU early decision next fall. Could anyone give me their thoughts on my chances?

I have a 4.2 weighted GPA, around 3.7 unweighted.
Top 15% of my class.
I haven't taken the ACT or SAT yet, but I'm taking both this spring. I'm expecting to get around a 30 on the ACT, and I got a 197 on the PSAT.
AP US History - 4
I'm taking AP Macroeconomics and AP US Government this year, AP English, Chemistry, and Calculus next year.
I've taken three years of accelerated math and english classes.

Extracurriculars (what I'm most worried about...):
2 years of band (including going to Europe last summer playing in an audition-based group).
Student Council
Success Stratagies
Early Literacy Volunteer (reading with 2nd graders who are struggling with reading, over the summer as well as during the school year.)
Volunteering at my St. Vincent and Sarah Fisher Center, once a week during the school year and three times a week during the summer (which is working with underprivileged children on math and reading).
I work at a preschool (in my highschool) two mornings a week.

I'm planning to apply to Steinhardt, intended major is Early Childhood Education, if that makes any difference.

Match.Good Luck!

You look like a match :]

hey course and pqrrrqjjjqq can you chance my thread? it’s nyu also.

and tessa you look like a good match for nyu

Your grades appear to be on target for NYU! And don’t worry about your ECs; you aren’t overflowing, but they seem to be pretty strong and consistent, which is very good.

Hi. I am really wanting to transfer to NYU (like a million other people), I’m thinking Gallatin or Arts and Science. I am currently at a CC in southern ca, my second year, and I have a 3.9 cumulative but, I’m hoping to bump it up a little after this semester. I have taken a less traditional route with my education, went to a fashion trade school right out of high school, quit after a year and then took a year off. My high school GPA definitely was nothing impressive and I didnt take any standardized tests. I dont have any EC’s because I work around 50 hours a week. I’m completely financially independent and live on my own. I am also of American Indian descent. Am I living in lala land to think that I have a chance? Feel free to be brutally honest.

Keep up the good work!
