Chances for NYU

Hello! I was just wondering if I could get some feedback as to what people thought my chances of getting into NYU are. I am absolutely in love with the school and plan on applying early decision to Gallatin, with a focus in public relations. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Okay, here it goes:
I just finished my junior year at a private catholic high school and am a white female.
I have a weighted 4.312 GPA, which should put me at around an unweighted 3.75 with my schools weighting policy.
I have a 1920 SAT with 670 CR 590 Math and 660 writing (taking one more time in the fall)
I am VP of the news team at my school and SGA historian.
I am also involved in several honor societies and play varsity softball.
oh! and I am an IB "diploma candidate" which means I am "taking the most rigorous courses offered" <-- right from the app. haha
I am ranked 18th, putting me in the top 10% of my class.
Before IB I was enrolled in all honors and AP classes and did rather well.

I unfortunately do not have any family members that have attended the university, or any other aspect that could potentially give me a leg up. But, hey I am going to give it my best shot! Thanks again for the feedback.

I think your close to in, the only thing I would focus on is maintaining your GPA (it’s good right now) and boosting that SAT, you want to get at least a 650+ in each subject, and shoot for around a 2000-2100 Total.

Thanks a lot! :)

Objectively, your GPA is fine but SAT scores are pretty low. Gallatin is really random with admissions, so it’s hard to chance you. With all due respect, I think they’re looking for more “out of the ordinary” ECs than what you presently have. I would say you’re a match/high match if you get your SAT score up to 2100+.

Thanks for the feedback. It is always good to have someone else look at you objectively. Again, I really appreciate it and am going to try to get my scores up! hahaha.

come on guys lets get this thing going! haaa

BUMP it up :)

ur looking very good for NYU. a good GPA, All those H/AP courses Are really good. Your ECs are pretty good, and ur SAT is decent but could be better. Just get ur SAT up a little, to say a 2000, and ur a shoe in. you seem rlly dedicated, so just study and keep trying and ur a great chance. NYU is really not that hard to get into

bump please :)
