chances for performing arts focus?

I'm applying EA to Stanford, and haven't been able to figure out if I'm doomed or not. You know, people at school always assume that high GPA and SAT are automatic shoe-ins. But I've read last year's admissions decisions on this forum, and the arbitrariness (is that a word? :) ) is scary!

I'll be submitting a recording for voice as a supplement, not sure about violin yet

So what do you think? Have I got a shot?

bump......

Hey elphaba you will hear either:
You don't look strong
OR
You look strong.

Look at yourself and make a judgement call. Do you have the GPA? yes. Do you have the test scores? yes. Do you have stong EC's? yes. So WHY WHY WHY ARE YOU POSTING?!

If everyone on this board tells you you're not getting in, are you not applying?

If everyone says there is no way that you won't get it are you not going to apply to other schools?

See?

Sorry, just putting my $4.00 in.

Sorry for angering you, ashveer. Actually, I was looking forward to hearing from others, especially on whether my ECs are too "soft." Although not entirely depending on the responses here, if I did get an overwhelming opinion that I didn't have that great of chances, I was going to switch to ED Princeton. Again, sorry for my idiocy in posting.

OK, let's do this:
Your EC's are strong, especially because you show depth in your passion. You yourself can make that judgement. I'm not angry at all and dont play the "sorry for my idiocy game." Your previous post should have been in your first post, about Princeton etc. IF stanford is your first choice, go for it. What determines "hard/soft" EC's if you followed them through with commitment? In your position if you're 50/50 pton/furd, I'd look to see which has a stronger program.
