~CHANCES for Regular Decision~

Hello

I am a senior from a competitive public school on long island. Hispanic (puerto rican decent)

I am taking: 2 ap classes this year; 2 college classes and one honors class.

I want to be a theater major at Fordham. I have studied theater for several years and currently audition professionally. This summer I filmed a movie in Argentina to film my first independent film

my sat scores are: 490-math crit. read-510 writing-530
ACT: 21
SAT II in us hisotry: 580

i am in the following clubs: latino college group, finance chair in model congress; viewpoints editor for the school newspaper. Big buddies mentor to esl kids

I am currently a mentor to freshmen in a special government program in my school.

Religion is very importaNT IN my life. I am a youth minister/leader at my church and have participated in numerous vounteer activities.

Currently I have a part time job at CVS pharmacy.

I plan on taking my SAT's again in november

DO I HAVE A SHOT ???

ps: i plan on auditioning for theater in feb.

I do think you have a shot.

The test scores are well below Fordham's midrange, but your URM status, plus your unique ec (filming a movie) could give you a hook. I would defuinately try to improve the scores on SAT to better your chances, and I would definately write a GREAT essay about the movie experience. Show passion and drive and energy.

You have a shot, but it is not a lock.

Good Luck!

i think it's a reach
unless you raise your sat to a 1200
