There are too many “blanks” to answer this question. If you have taken honors courses all four years, the GPA is looked at differently, obviously, than if you have not taken any or many honors. Class rigor is important in the selection process. What is your class rank? As you mentioned, your test scores need to go up, esp. in math. How did you score on your APs? Where are you from? Any leadership roles? Unfortunately, this year the word is they will only take a class of around 725-750, so it will be even more competitive. However, ED will help and getting better SAT scores and of course, a strong GPA this semester would all be positives. It is a fantastic school. Good luck to you.

i am from new jersey and i have a very strong rigor of classes. On my science ap i got a 4 and same with history. im coming out of a very respected public high school and i am varsity golf team captain and letterman, my school doesnt give out class rank

study to get the SAT up. Coming from NJ hurts rather than helps, the school is full of NJ students. But who knows… again, going ED helps and your grades this fall are very important, as is the rigor of your classes (All APs, mix of APs and honors, etc). It is a wonderful school, definitely on the rise, great leadership, beautiful facilities. Harder and harder to get into Richmond. Very different from 10 years ago. Have you visited yet? Sat in classes? You will be impressed.

I went to the Richmond Preview and I must agree about it being full of New Jersey residents. It seemed that just about every prospective and enrolled student I spoke to was from New Jersey. By the way, I am also from New Jersey.

LOL. Somehow we missed this fact when we toured campus. Our daughter is there now, a girl from the south! but she loves it and ironically the friends she has met and become closest to in these first few weeks are from South Carolina (yay!), Oregon, Chicago, and Maryland. But she does comment on how many are from NJ. In any event, she loves Richmond! Mulski, have you spoken to your school counselor and does your school have Naviance? You can see how your scores and grades line up with those from your school who have applied. It’s a great tool.

At orientation they told us that New Jersey is the state with the second most number of students.
