Also, let me know if you see any flaws in my overall application that I could shore up or fix.

Chances please! Thanks in advance guys!

Will your name be on the publication you mentioned? And do you know what’s the journal’s name?? :)

As an ORM, you are just another high-achieving, competitive applicant. When it comes to the Ivies, it’s hard to say by any measure. Welcome to CC, by the way.

^ I was going to say something like that too.

Thanks for the welcome, guys
And sorry for sounding newbie-ish, but what is orm? I’ve never heard that before…

“Over represented minority”. Basically, there are a lot of applicants with a similar background and similar stats as you so it is extra essential to set yourself apart from competition! Best of luck :)

ORM is “over-represented minority”, pretty much Asians.
URM is the opposite, see African Americans, Native Americans, and Hispanics

Caucasians are considered the middle.

Thanks for the help elbeen :)

well im not going to lie, nothing about that really stands out.
as a ORM, it is no guarantee for any of those schools.

Haha it’s okay, I appreciate brutal honesty.
Thanks for your input anyways :)

Hi I don’t want to sound mean or anything, but I used to be like you, only took APs, did bunch of honor societies, volunteering activities, and extracurricular activities…and
I had a DREAM of going to the Ivie Leagues all my life…

but right now i am a college student and I regret that I only applied to the high ranked schools because they didn’t give me admission even if I had all the stats I needed to go there…I guess there was a big competition among students who had perfect grades and they just decided to take them instead…

my life is SO miserable…I always think about the times when I was in high school, and why the hell I applied to those schools I did…I should’ve applied to public schools and good safety schools too…

I am trying to You do not have ANY safety schools and what will you do if you get rejected by all of them?

I do have safety schools, and other such schools.
I simply didn’t bother putting them up because I figured that I didn’t want to waste people’s times by putting those on.
Schools like Northeastern University, that I could get into with full tuition, I didn’t put on.

So in conclusion, I guess I just didn’t add them to the list, though maybe I should have.

If none of these schools are guarantees, are there any schools I shouldn’t bother applying to, that I don’t have a chance of getting into?
Or is it just that I’m not solid on any of them, but I still have a shot at all of them?

You’ll get into Michigan and into Ross later of not pm. The others will just depend on how compelling your app is.

Hey why aren’t you answering my question?

Is your name going to be on publication?? And the journal’s name??

Sorry Eugenie, I didn’t notice it.
And yes, my name will be in the publication.
We’re not sure which publication yet, as we’re still pushing it through to multiple journals.

Anyone else?

OP, at Northeastern, unless you are a National Merit Finalist, you can’t count of a full tuition scholarship. Possible but not guaranteed.

Thanks for the heads up
Not to sound conceited or anything, that’s not at all what I’m going for, but I’m reasonably sure that I should be a Nat’l Merit Finalist, so I should be able to count on a full tuition scholarship, right?

bump… anyone?
