Hi there! This is my first post!

Anyway I was wondering if I have any chance at receiving any scholarships. I'm in the IB program and unfortunately due to my not understanding math and subsequently receiving generally poor grades in those classes I only have a 3.6 GPA. My sat (which I have only taken once) was HORRIBLE and I received a 1450, which I hope to increase dramatically when I take it December 1st. I have extra curricular activities including: Art club, recycling club, gardening club, Tri-M honor society, Peer helper, key club, honors choir, gospel choir Jack and Jill of America (big community service), I worked as a summer school teacher for elementary school children and I am currently an assistant piano teacher.

I'm applying to George Mason, VCU, Howard, Hampton and Old Dominion...I plan on submitting all of my applications by December 1st... and I want to major in English (I know, i know english?!) I know I'm in the qualification range for the Howard founder's scholarship, which pays for tuition, room + board and offers a $500 book voucher, but does anyone know if I have ANY chance of receiving a scholarship from any of the other colleges?? Do you think strong essays/higher SAT scores will increase my chances?

Thanks in advanced!
