After my parents separated I basically had to make up for everything my dad did in the house, including taking care of my little sister and extra things like grocery shopping etc. Because of this my EC time is severely cut and my Senior activities lack in comparison to a lot of the other applicants.

A lot of info...I Know.

Thanks for anyone who replies.

Although your EC's are solid, your test scores seem to be low. Your stats number-wise are just not there, even including your GPA.

I'll say its a high reach, like most people

Most of the B's I earned were in 8th and 9th grade.
I have only gotten 1 B in 10th, 11th and 12th.
I was hoping my strength of schedule and this factor would compensate for the mediocre gpa.

I guess what I am asking in this thread is-

would my strength of schedule compensate for my mediocre gpa?

I would really like to have this answered.

It can help offset it slightly, but it's definitely not full compensation.

I don't think the eighth grade scores count, though - that's strange that your high school includes it. if you hadn't factored that in already, that might bring your grade up.

Your scores are more then enough...especially since you are a URM plus you come from a unique high school and have had hard cirucmstances.
