Chances for Stanford + Other Schools

I've been looking through these forums forever and I'm finally a senior and want to get my post in ;D

My dream school since I was a little kid is Stanford. My room is red. My hair is streaked red. I have a thousand Stanford merch. Stanford Summer Session 2012 were the best days of my life.

And I would LOVE you if you could chance me for it.

I am also applying to:

SOOO. Chance me and I”ll chance you back. Thanks! :)

BTW: Want to major in biomed or cog sci as premed.

thank you! <3

There is no point in retaking your tests. In the two key parts of the SAT, you scored 1580 - a mere 20 points short of perfect. Your ACT isn’t even needed in your case. Your multiple 800s in the SAT II reinforce your resume.

So many applicants can’t seem to stop testing when the rewards of a slight improvement are nil, and the stress/expense of yet another test are greater then nil.

Work on your app, practice your badminton and swim. Enjoy your time and spend the time on stuff you love to do.

You have very impressive credentials! I’d say you have a very good chance of getting into Stanford. You’re really well rounded. Stanford is oh-so-picky, so I’m not 100% sure, but I really think you’re a highly competitive applicant for any of those schools!

I’ve been wondering whether I should take the SAT again, but I guess I shouldn’t :P. The ACT I took in grade 10 so I really want to retake it :P

And thanks daria :)

Should I apply REA? :S

You did not mention your unweighted GPA. That is important because Stanford (and all of the selective colleges) will unweight your GPA; then some of them weight it again using their own formula. Some schools weight so highly that a student can have over a 4.0 and NOT have all A’s (eg schools that give a 6.0 for an A in an AP class). i’m assuming that you have all A’s, or close to it, but I’m not sure. this is key because most schools place GPA and choice of courses taken even above ACT l(or SAT) scores. Besides not being clear on your grades, though, your stats look GREAT and I think you have a better chance than most applicants to get into Stanford.

@kcwijaya- just curious, where did you end up getting in? :)
