Schools I'm looking at: (obviously I like reach colleges. haha)
Stanford
Rice
Harvard
Yale
Princeton
Columbia
U of Penn
Duke
Georgetown
Berkeley
University of Washington
UT Austin
Whitman
Lewis and Clark
College of Idaho (TRUST ME, it's a safety)

Thank you VERY much for chancing me! I'll gratefully chance back if you like. Just chance me for the schools above. A percentage is always nice, but otherwise, anything will help. Thanks again :)

Holy moly, you have some interesting ECs! You should be set at many of these schools if you use your ACT scores. Stanford, Harvard, Yale, Princeton are low reaches and everything is probably a match.

Thanks! :). Hope my passion comes through in this big jumble of things. Do you want/need me to chance you back? I feel somewhat guilty having you read my entire chance thread without reciprocating.

It’s no problem :stuck_out_tongue: I’ve had some old ones if you want to look through the most recent one. I’ll make an updated one in august maybe.

If you remember, feel free to post the updated August one here and I’ll be more than happy to chance you :)

Haha I decided to make one :stuck_out_tongue:

Anyone else, feel more than free to comment
Please! Haha.

Wow, to say it crudely, YOU GOT SKILLZ! By the way, you just helped me notice Idaho is right next to Utah :D

^ yup, that’s actually our state slogan: “the state next to Utah.”. Haha

…can i be you for a few months to apply to college?? JEEZ i can’t even… how did you do that? your scores are fantastic, and your ec is a terrific hook. i’m jealous. see you at harvard/princeton/yale/stanford…

Well thank you! Hopefully I’ll see you there.

BUMP. Anyone else have? I would kind of like to know how I stand on some of the non-super-high-ivies. Any matches or safeties?

I think you’re into the ivies for sure! Congrats in advance :P

Honestly, I think you have an excellent chance at all of those schools. Your accomplishments with regards to your ECs are amazing! Also, you have a high ACT and GPA. The only thing that’s left is the essay. But, these schools can be random, so you never know. Chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1173642-new-member-chance-me-please.html

Just a question: if I were to submit both my ACT and SAT (which I’ve already done for a few of the colleges), will the colleges take both of them into consideration, or will they only use my higher score (the ACT) for determining acceptance? Thanks!

Sorry this is so late, but they would use the higher score.

Sorry to BUMP up an old post, but I’ve revised my college list a tad. Colleges, in order of desire to attend:

Stanford
Rice
Harvard
Yale
Columbia
U of Chicago
U of Penn
Duke
Brown
Georgetown
Case Western
U of Washington St. Louis
Berkeley
UT Austin (Honors)
University of Washington
Whitman

You should be fine. Stanford and those top schools seem to be a toss up. When I visited there, they really emphasized how they want unique students who have had great accomplishments. Your scores, ECs, and classes should definitely put you in the running for a spot!

You have an incredible talent for jump roping and your scores are fantastic. Honestly, I think colleges will see your jump roping EC and view it very highly, but will look down upon the fact that it has taken up almost all your time. You are going to the college for a future career in the fields of your major. What bothers me is that I see little to no experience in those fields. Don’t get me wrong, your international level EC is AMAZING but I could see potential problems with admissions into the upper level ivys simply due to less devoted time to the topics you wish to further study. Do you plan on competing in jump roping/devoting large amounts of time to the activity? If that’s the case, you should reconsider your major because it will be tough to manage both at big schools like the ones you are aiming for.

In short, I am by no means demeaning you or trying to make you feel bad. I am just giving you a fair heads up that getting into HYPSM will not be a cake walk like others before me have said. They will take into account what I stated above. You have a very good shot at these schools, however, and some of the other privates you mentioned should be an automatic acceptance in most cases. I hope you understand what I said and again it’s not meant to be offending in any way. Good luck and hope you do well in whatever you choose!

I think you should be fine except for HYP and possibly Stanford. You have an awesome ACT score, but shouldn’t your composite add up to be a 35. Or are those the highest sub-scores from multiple test dates?
