Do you really need to ask? I mean, Stanford is selective and all that. But...

yeah but i dont have sports or anything which'll act as a hook during the admissions process.

You are editor of the most widely read evening newspaper in Pakistan? That's very impressive. It was kind of surprising to see the biotech job this summer, the paper didn't need you?

The biotech job shows you have a wide range of interests, but it detracts because nothing looks like a passion. You're in the Stanford lottery but hardly a sure thing.

r u applying for FinAid?
How many others are applying from your school and how do u stack up?
How good r your essays?

I say in for right now

Your profile for Stanford looks really good--although most of us on this site really don't know how Stanford chooses between two applicants that are almost equal. Well, at least I don't. Having said that, I would expect you to be accepted there.

er.. yes i'm applying for finaid but stanfords supposedly need-blind. and its not like i'm editor in chief or anything; just editor of page four :-( Incidentally, i care more for science than journalism (though not by much), so...

oh and i only work at the paper weekends ie i compile a weeks worth of articles together, edit them, then cue them up for the coming weeks edition
