Chances for Temple University

I have an 80 average ( I live in canada so I dont know how to make it into GPA or whatever), I have lots of extracurricular and many certificates from math competitions I have participated in. They told me I dont need SATS if I went to an english school for 12 years when I emailed them, but I feel like I should because I think I can get pretty high on them. I am part of the computer club, swim team and have over 100 volunteer hours. I dont think temple university is extremely hard to get into they have an acceptance of 60% so I was just wondering. I was applying to the tokyo campus by the way. All of my marks are between 75-90

It is easier to get into Temple than into Concordia or York. Although the Tokyo program may be different. Can you afford the tuition?

Yeah the money is fine, and they said it had the same qualifications and acceptance procedures as any other campus. How hard is it to get into the main one, thats about the same difficulty as the one in tokyo.

Since when did Temple go test-optional?

Getting into Temple is pretty much assured if you score 1700+ on the SAT; a 80% average is about a 3.0, unless, somehow, Temple U would assume that a 80% average at a Canadian high school is worth more than a 80% average at an American one.

Ah is it a 3.0? My chances might not be too good then :/, the average GPA for acceptance was 3.42 :(. Lol I clicked on a calculator and it said it was around a 3.4 or 3.5, I thought something was up with my marks being that high :P. Well those were my grade 11 averages im in grade 12 now hopefully I can end with something in the high 80’s or low 90’s

However even though I dont have too I will take the SAT’s and I think I can score around a 1700 or 1800, ill see what happens  thanks

more opinions please :D

Btw I have an 88 average in grade 12 right now, so I dont know if they look at both 11 and 12 just as seriously or your 12 more seriously. Im usually consistent with my marks so I will probably end in the 85-92 area. However my grade 11 marks gave me an 80 average.

I am pretty sure you have to submit SAT scores. Also American schools look at your grades from 9th grade through 11th grade. They expect you to maintain decent grades senior year but generally don’t consider them when deciding if they will accept you. Your grades are a little low and it is concerning that you have nor taken the SAT. Right now your chances are not great.

Hey thanks for the heads up, ill be sure to take the SAT’s this year and try to do my best, I still have time. Thanks for the reply haha yeah my marks arent the best :P, does anyone know what a 3.4 GPA equates too into canadian high school marks approx?

According to this chart you actually have a 2.7 and would need around an 87 to have a 3.4. Not sure if they use this conversion method or a different one. [GPA CONVERSION CHARTS](http://www.ncu.edu.tw/~joshua/gpa_charts.htm)
