Hello! This is my first time on here, as you can see. I need help!

Class of: 2014
Class Rank: 32/72 (Top-half)
G.P.A: 3.01 (My school designates for freshman year to be the hardest, so it really messed me up.)
SAT: M: 370, CR: 440, W: 510, Essay: 9/12 (retaking in November)
I know they suck. I'm refocusing on the Mathematics section this time.

Just to spare you details about my activities:

I do numerous activities and I have a part time job at an elementary school. I work over the summer (since I was 14). I was offered a job at a university after winning a competition this summer. I'm sociable. I know, for a fact, that my recommendations from teachers will be superb. Photography is a serious hobby of mine. I'm a great writer, so much that a teacher accused me of plagiarism once. I want to major in business. I'm a National Honor Society member.

Personal:

Only child to immigrant parents, minority, my mother recently got married, but I've been raised by one person all my life. I live about two hours away (out of state) from Temple University.

@Hawkace Thank you so much. I have been awarded with $15,000 academic scholarships from both Drew and St. John’s. I’m not as upset as I thought I would be.

@anon635635 I really wish I knew why I was turned away. I’m genuinely confused. Everyone told me I’d get in - even my guidance counselor. A former graduate of my high school with a less impressive résumé is enrolled into Temple. I met all the criteria and I am neck-deep in extracurricular activities. I’m not the most amazing student, but I’m not bad enough to get a flat denial.
