Chances for these following schools, given my info:

Hey guys, i'm a junior and will be starting to apply to colleges this summer, since the apps come out on August 1st. So here are a few things about myself:

-3.8 UC GPA (currently), 3.5 unweighted, 4.0 weighted.
- Taking/taken a bunch of AP Classes, (Bio, APUSH, Euro, etc)
- Got a 26 on ACT (I know very low, im aiming to get 30+ by June)
- I have over 100 hours of community service
- Golf team for all years
- I currently work for the City of Anaheim at the community services department (Government job)
- Family income is over 200,000 (Just wanted to state that because of financial aid/merit scholarships)
- attend a top 150 high school in the nation

I am interested in majoring in Business Admin/ Poly Sci and the schools that I am looking at are:

UCs (Berkeley, LA, San Diego, Irvine, Davis)

Santa Clara University

USC

NYU

Southern Methodist University

UT Austin

University of Washington

University of Minnesota

Cal State Universities (Slo, Fullerton, Long Beach)

I understand most of these schools have very competitive business programs and I would be willing to even apply in as an unpopular major and then switch in to the Business program. SO, i just want to know what you guys think. Chances of getting into any of these schools considering my stats. I have heard many different things about where I can get in and stuff but I just want more opinions. My dream is USC/Berkeley. I know they are very competitive but will be willing to apply in as unpopular major like i stated.

ALSO, for financial aid, any idea with my family's income if they'll give me any non need based aid, or actual aid?

Thanks Guys!!!! :)

UCLA: Aim for 31+/2100+
UCSD: Aim for 29+/2000+
UCD: Aim for 28+/1950+
UCI Merage: Aim for 28+/1950+
Santa Clara: Aim for 28+/1950+
NYU Stern: Aim for 32+/2150+
USC Marshall: Aim for 31+/2100+
UT Austin McCombs: Reach
UWA Foster: Aim for 28+/1950+ (expect to be paying full-freight)
UMinn Carlson: Aim for 28+/1950+
Cal Poly SLO: Aim for 31+/2100+
CSUF: Low match
CSULB: Aim for 29+/2000+

So Austin is pretty competitive I see?

You should not pin your hopes on a four-point increase in your ACT score. My son applied, albeit from out-of-state, with a 31 composite ACT and a UC-weighted GPA similar to, or slightly higher than, yours. He got into UCSD and Davis, but not Berkeley. He knew that Berkeley was a reach. Incidentally, his first ACT was a 29, and the two-point increase was significant. Anything’s possible, but you shouldn’t base a list on unrealistic expectations. NYU/Stern is probably out of reach - it is highly selective - but the regular college might be within range for you.Unfortunately, they are notoriously stingy with financial aid. I imagine that Pace would be an academic fit. They are very expensive, as all NYC colleges are, but you might qualify for their Honors program. What about DePaul or Duquesne? They are probably academic safeties, with the possibility of merit aid. Business is probably an “impacted” major at Cal Poly/SLO, but Poli. Sci. is not so much, so that might be an option. UCSC and UCI are probably matches for you. If you boost your scores a bit, UCSB might be a match also. I’d say that UCLA and UCB are unlikely, and UCSD and Davis would be reaches. I would have said that UWashington was a match, but they wait-listed my son.
