<p>O.K., I am a transfer student hoping to transfer to USC next fall, with the intentions of transferring to the Thornton Music School. While the transfer deadline for the university isn't until 2-1-08, the deadline for the music school is 12-1-07. As you can guess, I am now really panicking and freaking out about my chances. Here are my current stats:</p>
<p>High School GPA: 3.95 (finished in the top 10%)
SAT/ACT Scores: Didn't take them. (not required for transfer students at USC)</p>

<p>Total = Transferable GPA: 3.75 (could go up to a 3.84 if I ace out this fall, or as low as a 3.76)
Non-Transferable GPA: 3.67 (the math courses are required for admissions, but are remedial and will not transfer)
Units: 24 transferable completed (will go up to 36 by the end of the fall)
GE: Will be completed at the end of the fall semester
Pre-Req: finished last spring (Macroeconomics and Microeconomics)
EC: Deans List every semester at school, currently produce music projects in my home studio where I am essentially a one man band.

<p>I realize that my EC's are nothing to fawn over, but a lot of that was due to being home schooled from middle school through my high school graduation with numerous physical illnesses. It prevented me from doing most things outdoors, such as getting more involved with music related stuff... or anything, really. However, inside, I was able to teach myself a lot of instruments (I have perfect pitch) and began to gradually record. Thankfully, I've finally been able to get healthy for the past year and 1. get back to school where I have taken and completed courses such as Music Theory and Music Production and 2. I have been working on building a home studio with the ultimate goal to record and produce myself writing everything, recording everything and producing everything. However, compared to some of the jaw dropping applications that I've seen at Thornton with internships, touring around the world... am I just kidding myself here? I thought about attaching some recordings of what I've done, but they are not professional quality stuff, and, because I'm still working on my own original stuff, it's cover versions. I just feel that my chances at Thornton are doomed. But any comments about this in general and my chances at the University itself would be greatly appreciated. And if anyone else is applying for the same major, or has a knowledge about it, I'd love to talk privately (be it through IM), if possible. Either way, thanks and good luck to all!</p>
