Hi everyone,
I am a girl that has applied to Andover, Hotchkiss, Lawrenceville, Milton, and Peddie for ninth grade. Just wondering if anyone could chance me for these schools!

I am a state-ranked swimmer in Texas, and have been competitively swimming for 9 years. I have AA and AAA times, and am .6 off a Sectionals cut, which most people get as a sophomore. My relay team placed 4th in the state, and I individually placed 3rd in the region for multiple events this summer, as well as earning a top 20 spot at an international meet in Florida. This would probably be my hook.

I also run cross country and track & field, and have been the MVP for XC for the last 3 years of middle school, and was the district champion. I have been placing in top ten for all of my events consistently in my district, with the exceptions of the years I was injured.

I have been playing piano for 7 years, and received Superior ratings at my local music festival for the past 3 years as well. I am currently playing Bach, Chopin, and Debussy. I won a national piano competition in Holland at age 9. I have been a silver medalist in Music Theory tests every year since 6th grade. I am also a classical guitar player, and won the Classical Minds Guitar Competition in Texas at 11 years old.

I teach swim lessons and volunteer coach at my local swim team four times a week for an hour before practice, and have been doing this since the beginning of eighth grade. I am also a peer tutor, and I help 5th graders with Math and other 8th graders with US History. I am also a Student Council Representative for the 8th grade.

My average when applying was a 99, but is now a 98. I'm taking usual courses, with the exceptions of Advanced Algebra I because my school doesn't offer Advanced or AP courses. I have received High Honors for all three years of middle school, and have also received multiple high achievement awards in Math, History, English, Science, Music, PE, and Religion.

Last year, I placed 10th for the National French Contest, was identified for the Duke TIPS program, and was invited to join the Center. I came in 3rd place for an essay contest in my city in 6th grade, and a President's award for Academic Excellence in 5th grade (or something like that, haha...).

My recommendations will be good because my Math and English teachers like me. I think my essays were good, but I'm not sure if they were amazing or not. I let my personality through and displayed some of my good qualities, and also included personal experiences. My SSAT score was in the 90th percentile, but I didn't study for it AT ALL (like I opened my prep book for 20 minutes the night before the test) because originally, my focus was on private schools in my city, and only shifted to boarding schools after I took the test. I wanted to retake the test to get in the 94th percentile-ish, but my mother would not allow me, unfortunately.

It would be an honor to be even admitted to one of these schools, and I would love to attend! I really hope that I will get accepted, but so does everyone who applies. Everyone who applies is SO talented and brilliant, and I hope that I can join one of these schools. If you could chance me before March 10th, I would really appreciative.
