Hey,
Right now I'm a junior girl at a United States high school. I've spent the last two years in pre-IB, and I just started the official IB program.
My unweighted GPA is 4.0, and my weighted is 5.65, but I expect that to go up this year and next year with all the IB and AP classes I'm taking.
My class rank is 3rd out of 504 students.
My total SAT score is 2180 when I took it last year, that will definitely improve this year when I take it again.
I really want to go into International Relations or business, or possibly even major in History. I'm good at math and science, but they've never interested me college or career-wise.
My past AP scores are as such:
AP Human Geography- 5
AP World History- 4
Right now my schedule for the next two years looks like this: (note- if you don't know anything about IB, in my school they are weighted the same in your GPA as AP classes, and it is the most rigorous program available. HL is higher level, and SL is standard level. I am also taking the AP tests for many of these)
IB HL Biology (two year class)
IB HL English (two year class)
IB SL Anthropology
IB SL Spanish
IB HL History (two year class)
IB SL Math (that goes through calculus throughout the next two years)
IB Theory of Knowledge
Honors physics
AP Macroeconomics
AP Psychology
AP Environmental Science
As for my extracurriculars, I have been on the varsity swim team every year and hope to be made a captain next year. I did track last year. I am the Secretary of the National Honor Society, a member of Spanish Honor Society, an active member in the class of 2012, a member of Young Republicans and Democrats, Florida Oceanographic Club, my local youth leadership chapter, my youth group, Academic Team, Drama Club, I am the Student Government representative for Envirothon, and I am a member of the Student Government Association. I volunteer at an assisted living facility and a soup kitchen, as well as participate in many service opportunities whenever I have a chance.
Right now, I'm not sure as to where I stand when it comes to Ivy League schools. Do you think I have a chance to get in to any of those? I'm also thinking of applying to colleges such as Rice University, Southern Methodist University, the Coast Guard Academy, Duke University, Vanderbilt, Wellesley, etc.
And also, since colleges seem to like unique experiences, my family has a foreign exchange student staying with us this year.
Thank you for your time, and please chance me! Also let me know if there is anything different I could be doing to help increase my appeal to colleges.

If u can get your SAT up to 2250, I thin you’ll have an even better shot. Even without that, a 4.0 with that rigorous schedule is very impressive. I would also advice to apply to an in-state public school for safety. you’re sure to get into those.

In case my answer wasn’t clear- Good chance

very good chances at all of those schools but some aren’t definate. Definaty go for some Ivy’s but try to get the SAT score up even though it is already very good. Also definatly take the SAT II’s.
