Chances for top UC schools: Berkeley, Los Angeles, San Diego

I go to a private Catholic High School.

Sophomore Year (did pretty bad) :frowning:
Chemistry Honors - B/B
Art History AP - B/B
Geometry Honors - B/A
Spanish 2 Honors - B/A
World History MUN Honors - A/A
English 2 - A/A
Religion 2 - A/A (i’m not really sure if UC’s calculate this into the gpa, im assuming no)

I stepped it up a lot Junior year:
Physics 1 AP - A/A
AP Psychology - A/A
Precalculus Honors - B/A
Spanish 3 Honors - A/A
US History MUN Honors - A/A
English 3 - A/A
Religion 3 - A/A

UC GPA: 4.04 (I used the calculator on RogerHub)
My weighted GPA according to my school: 4.46

SAT Composite: 2250
SAT MATH: 800
SAT READING: 690
SAT WRITING: 760

EC’s/OTHER:
4 Years of MUN
150+ volunteer hours at a hospital
california scholarship federation lifetime member
participated in my schools special olympics twice (junior year, going to again senior year)
computer science club for 2 years (started junior year, continuing in senior year)
link crew (started junior year, continuing in senior year)
As you can see, I started doing EC’s kind of late, will this hurt my acceptation chances?

I’m kind of worried seeing as how although I’m matched up pretty nicely for UC and weighted GPA’s, my unweighted is rather low due to the amount of B’s I recieved in my sophomore year. According to http://www.admissions.ucla.edu/faq/FR_Not_Adm.htmI I am near the 50th-75th percentile on my weighted, but below the 25th for unweighted. Do UC’s take your unweighted GPA’s into account for applications?

You have a good chance at all the schools. They will take into consideration your GPA upward trend and they use both unweighted and UC weighted GPA. Your SAT score is on target, your EC’s are good but no outstanding leadership noted. Spend time on your UC essays and make them amazing. Good Luck.
