Hello!
I am a female possible biomed or biochem engineering student, some stem major if not engineering for sure.
I have a weighted uc gpa of 4.14 and and unweighted gpa of 3.77.
I have an SAT score of 2090 and for subject tests I have 750 for chem and 750 for math 2
Note worthy classes i have taken:
AP human geo in grade nine and got an A both semesters and a five on the test
AP World history in grade ten and got a B both semesters and a four on the test
AP Calc AB in grade 11 and got an A both semester
AP Chem in grade 11 and got an A both semsters(I took honors chem in grade 10 and got an A both semesters in that)
AP US History in grade 11 and got a B both semesters
AP Physics 1 in grade 11 and got an A first semster and a B second semester
I plan on taking AP physics C, AP calc BC, AP gov/macro Econ, h. physiology and regular english senior year.
My extracurriclars are:
-Science Bowl (captain grade 11 and 12)
-Volunteering at the YMCA (Fifty hours grade 10)
-Volunteering at an elderly home (100 hours goal by the time college applications are due)
I also tutor my brother and younger cousins
So what are my chances for the main UC’s (aka ucb, ucla, ucdavis, ucsd, ucsb, and ucirvine), that is without a personal statement and just these numbers?
Oh and im a california resident if that matters at all?
thank you for reading all this
UCB, UCLA and UCSD are reaches, primarily due to your SAT.
The rest, you are a very solid applicant. Note though, much of UC admission is subjective. Many well qualified applicants are rejected from each campus every year. Apply to several - and have a back up plan.
good luck.
You are a qualified and competitive applicant but UCLA/UCB but they will be tough. UCSD could go either way since their BME program is highly ranked and extremely competitive, but you have a decent shot. For the rest of the UC’s, you have a very good chance. Good Luck with your applications.
Thank you so much for your replies. So if i were to write a killer personal statement would i be good?
If you write a killer essay in the eyes of the Ad Coms, then you have a much better chance.
