I am a freshman at a liberal arts college in Michigan. My college GPA is a 3.7. My high GPA was a 3.5 and my act was a 24. I had never heard of Tulane during high school, but it sounds like a great place to be. My extracurriculara include being a member of 2 clubs, eagle scout rank, and I will be volunteering 100 service hours over the summer. I will be applying for fall 2017, and assuming that my GPA remains around 3.6-3.8, how good are my chances? I’m also taking several summer classes, so a higher number of credits might help.
Crap. Forgot to mention that I am on the dean’s list and honors program
There are several variables that affect the number of transfers Tulane accepts any given year, but I would say your chances are decent. The 24 ACT won’t matter unless Tulane changes their policy before then, because now they do not require high school records for people transferring in as juniors.
The website says that they still require High school transcripts
OK, I guess they must have recently changed it. Although it still looks like they won’t require the test score
That would definitely be in your favor. I am surprised they still care about high school transcripts after two years of college grades, but maybe they are just being careful in looking for any transgressions in high school, more so than the GPA. That would explain not needing the test scores.
Anyway, as I said I like your chances if you at least maintain that GPA where you have it now.
Thanks man. I’m assuming you graduated from there and had a good experience?
Both me and my D. Fantastic for us.
