<p>I am a seventeen year-old freshman at a community college, and the national honors society Phi Theta Kappa offers full-rides for a small number of transfer students from community colleges every year. Washington University in St. Louis is my dream school, and they accept this scholarship. One must be nominated for consideration, and I am really hopeful that I will be chosen. However. I need to stay practical, so please chance me! By the way, I am biracial (African American/Arabic father and white mother) and a girl. My passions are biology (for fun) and writing (because I'm good at it). </p>

<p>College Stuff: </p>

<p>GPA: 4.0
Member of Phi Theta Kappa (Honors Society)
3 academically rigorous courses (one math, two biology)
President of College Poet Society
Administrative assistant for a marketing company
Newspaper Journalist
~2 hours of volunteering per week, for four years
3 hours of tutoring work, for two years
Shakespeare in the Park volunteer</p>

<p>Random Bits:
Next semester, I'll be helping with archaeological digs in the area, for a four-year college near me. Also, I have a 129% in my anthropology class. </p>

<p>High School Stuff:</p>

<p>GPA: 3.6 (I was a huge partier in the old days)
2 honors English courses, 2 math AP's,
National Merit Scholarship Semifinalist
Volleyball, Newspaper, and Yearbook for 1 year
German Club for four years
~5 hours of volunteer work, per week</p>

<p>Random Bits:
I took the ACT when I was 15 and got a 28, so I'm going to take it again to keep up-to-date. Also, I was going to be chosen to give a speech about how I was the most improved student at graduation (I went from having C's and D's, and not caring about school, to having perfect grades my senior year), but my boyfriend beat me. He had a 2% chance of graduating, but he did it. We're totally not a power couple.</p>

<p>I think you have a really great chance! Based on your academics Wash U would be luck to have you! Your test scores are excellent and your ECs will really be helpful too!
