UC GPA calculator which includes unweighted, capped weighted and fully weighted GPA: https://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/

Your SAT score is competitive, good EC’s but UCI tends to be very GPA focused. Under a 4.0 Capped weighted might be an issue since that is below the 25th percentile for admitted applicants.

Average SAT and Capped weighted GPA for enrolled admits in the Computer Game Science major was 4.07 Capped weighted UC GPA and 1320 SAT.

2018 Freshman admit rates for UC GPA of 3.80-4.19 capped weighted and not major specific:
UCI: 38%

2019 UC capped weighted GPA averages along with 25th-75th percentile range:
UCI: 4.13 (4.00-4.25)

2019 Data:
25th - 75th percentiles for SAT totals:
UCI: 1250-1510

Thank you for sm info! I was wondering, do you think UCI is more of a match or a reach for me?

High Match 50/50 chance.

UCI student here. I agree with Gumby’s post and would also like to add too that while you should see getting into UCI as a 50/50 chance, getting into your major could be much harder. We admit into the university first then into the school/major of your choice, so you might find getting into the ICS school difficult due to how impacted it is. You might be able to transfer into the major after you get accepted, but the ICS school is notoriously hard to get into. You will struggle to get the prereqs done in order to transfer, as there’s not even enough room for some comp Sci majors to take their required classes. Good luck though and message me if you have any questions!
