<p>Hi guys. I am applying to Uchicago EA and wanted to know my chances of acceptance. Here are my statistics.</p>

<p>Stuyvesant High School, NY
91.4 transcript average (3.64 GPA)
class rank not available</p>

<p>Test Scores:
2210 SAT
800 M
740 CR
670 W Essay: 9/12
(U chicago does not consider writing scores right? So my SAT score is actaully quite good?)</p>

<p>33 ACT composite</p>

<p>Uchicago also does not look at SAT Subject tests? I will list them anyway
780 Math II
770 Math I
will take bio/chem this month</p>

<p>EC's
~200 Volunteer hours for nonprofit chinese organizations. Teacher's assistant and taught chinese language.</p>

<p>gpa is somewhat week but i know stuyvesant is supposed to be ultra competitive so i dunno how gpa would work there
ecs are definitely week for chicago though.

<p>oh and i also worked at a pharmacy over the summer of my junior year. learned a lot about different medicines and how the process works.</p>

<p>As you’re from Stuyvesant, you’re better asking you GC, friends who have graduated and data showing where previous grads with your stats went.</p>

<p>My son’s school sends several graduates to U of C every year, so I have the benefit of some Naviance scattergram data. Your ACT is right in the sweet spot for acceptance. Your class rank should be in the top 5% and you should have taken the most demanding courses available (you make no note of WHAT classes you took). </p>

<p>Your ECs look weak, but the devil is in the details – can you show that you made a significant difference in your volunteer work or did you just put in hours? Can you show leadership, innovation or other success within these activities? Your essay at U. of C. can make more of a difference than at most competitive colleges, take the time to write well and state your case and you could have a reasonable shot.</p>
