Do i need a better SAT score to be competitive? Any other extracurriculars for the medical field?
Your SAT score is great, don’t worry about that. Your ECs and GPA are very strong so I think as long as your essay, recommendation, etc are good as well you have a very high chance. Best of luck!
Doesn’t add up when you have an internship but a very low math SAT score. Something sounds fishy.
The math SAT curve for that test was awful. I made three mistakes in the math section and no others on the entire test. And for internships no one looks at SAT scores, especially for a sophomore, and my gpa is very competitive
Your GPA, SAT, and extracurriculars are very impressive, and your SAT is definitely competitive enough. Definitely a very high chance. Are those potential extracurriculars or are you already doing them? They seem like a lot for a sophomore (especially president of multiple clubs), but if you’re already participating in them, keep it up!
I really want to be a doctor and UCLA is my dream school, and yes I started two clubs my freshman year, did an internship my freshman year, an original research project this year, am planning internships this summer and have contacted researchers and am working with one currently. I’m very disappointed in my sat score, as I know i could have done better and am in advanced math courses. If I retake, will anyone care about this score?
There’s an extremely high chance you’ll get accepted if you continue to perform well throughout high school and continue to be a well-rounded student. Quit stressing about your SAT score as its a very good score. If you do decide to retake, no one will care about this score. You’re EC’s are also solid.
If you’re applying to higher ranked schools, such as Stanford or Ivies, then yes, you should retake for a higher math score. However, if you’re aiming for UCLA, 2290 is impressive enough.
I would not worry about that either if you continue to maintain your excellence everywhere else!
