Although your test scores are very competitive and within range, a below 4.0 UC GPA is well below the 25th percentile of 4.18 which will make it a tough admit. UC’s tend to be more GPA focused vs. test focused.

Microbiology or Biophysics is in the College of Letters and Sciences at UCLA which does not admit by major.

Having the Biotech Research will help but probably not enough to overcome your GPA.

UCLA should be considered a Reach regardless just due to the huge # of qualified applicants and the low acceptance rate.

I have posted these stats before just to give some guidelines on how your academics stack up.

2018 Freshman admit rates for UC GPA of 3.80-4.19 capped weighted and not major specific:
UCLA: 9%

2019 UC capped weighted GPA averages along with 25th-75th percentile:
UCLA: 4.25 (4.18-4.32)

2019 Data:
25th - 75th percentiles for SAT totals:
UCLA: 1330-1550

25th - 75th percentiles for ACT composite + language arts
UCLA: 29-35

Hopefully you applied widely and have some great Safety and Match schools on your list.
