Okay so I will have the following by end of senior yr:
10 APs : World History, Bio, Lang, Computer Science, Physics 1, Stat, Calc AB, Chem,Art History, Psychology.
2 Dual enrollments at GPC: College English and Econ.
My CNA: 94 (Our county doesnt do gpa for some odd reason.)
Gpa is roughly 3.9 im guessing
SAT: 1950
Displinary: 4 public detentions for honor code, but my administrator said that I would not have to explain to colleges about it.
What do you think my chances are for getting into UGA? I am really stressed about my chances cause my grade is really really competitive. And also do you think i will have to explain my public detentions on the UGA application?
Your GPA/CNA is fine regardless
Looking at this https://www.admissions.uga.edu/prospective-students/first-year/fy-profile
It shows that you’re in really good shape. Their average admitted SAT is higher than their average attending SAT because due to the HOPE scholarship most high achieving kids in-state will still apply to UGA as a safety. That means that your stats will be decently above average compared to attending students, and you should have no trouble getting in.
If they’re just detentions and not suspensions you should be fine. Even if you were suspended, I don’t think UGA would hold it against you heavily if it wasn’t major, since your stats really are great for UGA.
Thank you so much. It is sort of major cause I messed up and cheated on a test. Do you think I will have to explain why I got the detention on the UGA admission thing?
I think you have to indicate if you were ever accused of academic dishonesty on the common app and explain the circumstances. But it may only ask that if you were suspended. In either case, it’s best to go through you counselor about what to say, cause I’m not sure about the exact wording.
