I am going into my senior year of high and beginning the college application process. I am planning to major in neuroscience/genetics or psychology (B.S.) as a fall back. My GPA is 3.7(UW) 4.45(W) and my ACT is 26 (superscore 28). I will have taken 9 APs - 4 being taken senior year and all the rest of my classes have been honors classes. I have been a 4 year member of my school’s dance team and 2year captain. I have numerous extra-curriculars and many leadership positions (not that colleges care). I have legacy through my grandfather and uncles at the UofMinnesota.
What do you think my chances are???
I’ve enclosed info regarding merit scholarships for Clemson. If you were to retake you ACT and get at least a 28 in one sitting ( they don’t superscore the ACT) you’d be eligible for merit with your GPA if you are ranked in the top 10% of your class. Clemson weighs GPA, test scores, rank and rigor the most in the decision process. ECs weigh very little. Also, if Clemson is a serious contender, it would be a good idea to complete the application as soon as it goes live on Aug 1 because housing is determined based on application date, not acceptance date. It’s an easy app with no required essays. Good luck.
