Thanks again. Basically CP is my number one choice, and I applied to a few safety schools.

Wow, your schoold must be crazy, 57th out of 350 with a 3.86! Anyway, you're basically in with those scores and GPA, as long as you applied priority.

Your chance of getting in is high! I'm a grad student there now. I had a 3.8 unweighted gpa and 4.1 weighted back in 12th grade and applied. I got a 760 Math but didn't get in due to poor verbal score (I wasn't born here). They told me to take the toefl for verbal part to get in but I didn't wanna pay extra $150 for that test so my application just hung there, waited for the score to come in. I guess that could be considered a reject. Since ur in state, you have a great chance.

There are scholar, honors, gemstone programs there, you wouldn't get in honors / gemstone but probably scholar.

Yeah, my school is crazy competitive. Our number 1 kid did not take Gym as a freshmen, just so he could get in another Honors or AP class. he's taking it now as a senior.

yeah you should be in easy since youre in state, even if you weren't you probably wouldn't have a problem

it's so weird to think about how competitive umd has gotten. i live in md too and i remember back when i was little it was like everyone's safety school and now its like crazy how hard its gotten to get in

yeah most smart kids instate applied as safeties and they got rejected to all the best schools, so end up at maryland lol
it's good though, there's a large amount of diversity, there are different ranges of people to fit in.

Does anyone know if Maryland or other state school weigh mid-year reports heavily? I did great on my semester grades, but got 2 D's on midterms. Are my chances screwed?
