I will be a first year student and go to a very highly ranked public high school in Illinois. My gpa is lower than average at about 3.5. My school does not rank but I’d have to guess I’m in the top 25%. I get mostly bs but I take so many AP classes that my gpa is still higher than a b average. Overall I’ve taken 11 AP classes and so far I have passed every AP test (I still have 4 to take this spring). My ACT is a 27 (33 English, 27 reading, 22 Math, 26 science) and superscored it is a 29 (33 English, 30 Reading, 26 Math, 26 Science). I am very involved in ecs and have done two sports at the varsity level all four years. I am an English tutor and have a job at the YMCA over the summer. I also volunteer at a building that helps patients with dementia with my mom whenever I have the time and I have been doing that for about 10 years. I want to have my first choice be Accounting at the Carlson school or management and my second choice be English in the liberal arts program. I’ve looked at their stats but it hasn’t helped me much because my GPA seems sooooo low compared to everyone else’s but I’ve taken so much AP that I feel like it has some effect. Anyway, I’ve visited this campus twice and love it so much. It is my dream school and I would love to go here. If I don’t get in I’ll be so upset. Based on what you’ve seen, what are my chances?
UMN doesn’t superscore the ACT. They use your single best composite score (that you submitted).
