MSU Student, Majoring in Criminal Justice/Psychology
College GPA: 3.8, Dean's List applying as a Sophomore
ACT: 25 (I did NOT send that)
SAT: 1950 :(
AP from High School: AP Biology (5), AP US History (5), AP Chemistry (4), AP Environmental Science (4), AP Microecon (4), AP Literature (4), AP Language (4), AP Psych (3), AP Gov (3), AP Macroecon (3)
HS Unweighted GPA: 3.56 (low GPA was explained due to special circumstances in my common app form, really worried about this too)
Applying for CAS at Penn, major in Criminology
EC's: Pretty strong in HS, did 500+ hours (if it even matters), doing a charity/fundraising thing in college for sick children
Awards: mostly from HS, ap scholar, presidential award for service
Essays were strong, although I'm worried they might have been a been a little negative -- esp. the Ben Franklin essay for those of you who wrote that one. I would have to admit they were rather unique -- and I'm worried that it might be a bad thing.. I couldn't call them "normal" essays.

I was also curious if choosing a more "rare" major would increase your chances. Thanks!
