Chances for USC RHP Admissions 2014-2015?

Hi I'm new to this forum and recently got a letter inviting me to apply for USC RHP. As I did some research, I found that most people who apply for the USC RHP seem to always be straight-A students with THOUSANDS of extracurriculars. Thus I wanted to ask for some opinions on my chances at getting into this program with my current stats:

Total GPA (9-10)
W: 4.28 UW: 3.72

AP's Taken
Bio AP- 3
Com Sci AP - 3
World History AP - 4

Currently Taking the Following AP's:
Calc AB AP
US History AP
Chem AP

All my other academic classes are all honors and I don't think my school is very competitive compared with those nearby such as Northwood HS or UNI High

PSAT (Soph): 203
SAT: Haven't taken it yet but have gone to Elite Prep and highest score is 2210.

EC's:
Marching Band
Track and Field
Robotics
Yearbook

Achievements:
Captain of FTC Team 6006 - First year team was started at our school I was able to lead the team into being a semi-finalist in the regional competitions.
Programming Lead for the FTC Team as well
Pneumatics Captain (This year) for the school's FRC Varsity Robotics Team
Most Improved Hurdler 2013 Season
Scholar Athlete
AP Scholar
Principal Honor Roll

So yeah...those are my stats.. I'm probably not the best student compared with all of those 4.5 weighted GPA students with 3.9 unweighted GPAs nor again do I really have a heck load of ECs especially volunteering (None) but do you guys think I stand a fair chance at getting in still? Especially if I can write good personal statements and essays on the Application as well as reference for legacy that my dad was a USC Graduate from their Graduate School?

USC RHP: Reach
USC Dornsife regular: Match/High match

Hi Catria I’m not sure what you mean by “Reach” and “Match/High Match”

48+ views please some more input would be greatly beneficial on whether I should spend $100 on submitting this application or just not even try if my chance is honestly too low for my acceptance to happen :(

you should apply! you never know whether or not you’ll be accepted! Plus, you’ll gain experience for next year if you don’t get accepted this year!

I think you have a fair chance. Robotics does take a long time (I don’t participate myself, but I know plenty of people who do), especially as a captain, so I think it counts as “good ECs” plus you do a sport.

Thanks guys! I’m on my final essay writing stages for the Common App and Supplement. Are any of you guys also applying? Or do you know anyone who IS applying?

Oh and to add onto my current stats. Got my SAT Scores back and got another recognition thingy.
SAT: 2180 (770 Math, 670 Reading, 740 Writing (10 Essay))
Awards: CGFL Essay Divisional Recognition

Hi arbalest!
Seems I’m a bit late to the party since the deadline’s passed, but I’m also applying for this. (:

i think your SAT score might be below average . the web says your SAT score has to be around 2200.

Did you get email back from USC yet?

Umm…OK? I don’t see a problem what my so called “attitude” SmarterThanU. Rather, your username itself is an indication of your vile arrogance.

Oh, and lovetennis16, on the USC RHP FAQ on their website, it specifically states that a 2050 is the minimum SAT score, not a 2200.

koml06, yes I did get an email back from USC thanking me for my admission.

oh yeah! sorry! do you know when you’ll hear back from usc? hope you get accepted! good luck!

did you get from USC Undergraduate Admission or RHP?
