Not accepted to AIM or Seminars
My grades are pulling me back significantly. Anything else that would help compensate for my poor grades?

Eagle scout is good and the job, but that gpa is very low, west point’s is somewhere around a 3.68 UW, so you 3.0 is VERY low. Im not sayin you can’t make up for that but if you have to literally kiss your teachers asses for A’s from here on out you had better do it if you want to get into the Academy. Something that would help at least a little is super awesome sat scores, I would say if you get at least over a 700 on each section or 2100ish overall (or above of course) you would stand a much better shot. Do you have a reason for the lower scores? for example did you have to take the part time job yo help support your family and thats why your grades slipped? or did something drastic happen? because if so then they might be more forgiving of the GPA however Im not sure just how forgiving. I think your gpa is definitely without a doubt the weak point of your application and you need to do everything you can to bring it up. im not too familiar with the other schools sorry.

I agree that your GPA is not competitive for USMA and USMMA. You are also light on athletics with Taekwondo not counting as a team sport. USMA likes to see varsity sports. You should run cross country this fall, score very well on your SATs or ACTs and apply to USMA. There’s a chance you might be competitive for a prep school position, where you go to a year of prep, then enter USMA. Unfortunately, you don’t select prep school, they select you when you apply. I also agree with xsucksToSuck in that if there’s a compelling reason for the low GPA, that could help.

Have you taken the PSAT or something that gives you a rough idea of what you will score on the ACT/SAT?
